Every year, Ryt-way will package over seven billion dry-food packages. There is no standard, one-size-fits-all solution. Every project is designed to achieve specific goals, with the most appropriate systems, materials, and processes. When it all comes together, the package is more than a package, it delivers the brand.

Invigorate 99-year old iconic confectionary product.
The new package facilitates ease of storage, distribution, and resealability while creating a billboard effect on shelf. The brand logos are clearly visible and shopper friendly. The challenge was to balance the integrity of the brand that consumers know and love from their childhood while giving the new package a fresh, high-impact look. Necco elected to go the contract packager route rather than install pouch filling equipment of its own. Ryt-way produces both 16-oz. pouches of Sweethearts and 14-oz. pouches of Sweetheart Dazzle Tarts. Ryt-way uses a horizontal form fill seal system to produce the Necco pouches. Applied on line, the zipper material is from Zip-pack.
The stand-up pouch with its re-closeable zipper feature permits a 15 to 25% premium in on-shelf pricing compared to a lay-flat pillow pouch holding the same 16 oz. Mass merchandisers were the first retailers to feature the Sweethearts stand-up pouch, and smaller retailers soon followed.
"...we reformulated the product itself to give it brighter colors, softer texture, bolder flavors, and new consumer-driven expressions like LOL, BFF, and so on. We then realized that the lay-flat package offered no real opportunity for brand exposure. We needed a package format that would let us emphasize the Sweethearts brand."

Kraft engaged Cloud Equipment to offer the food company a new way to package the Easy Mac's microwavable macaroni-and-cheese product.
Through a collaboration among engineers, machinery manufacturers, and materials suppliers, led to a system that offers precision at very high speeds, pairs single-serving pouches of different materials, stacks and glues the pouches together and places the stacked pouches in a carton or club store pack.
Packaging Machinery Technology (PMT) magazine named Kraft Foods, the winner of 2005 Packaging Line of the Year Award for its Easy Mac line. This is the packaging industry's most prestigious recognition of packaging line innovation and engineering excellence.
"...the pioneering technology behind the Cloud Packaging Solutions line raises the bar for the entire packaging industry. This is a clear example of a global company sourcing an innovative solution from local suppliers."
