SHIFT SUPERVISOR
POSITION SUMMARY:
The incumbent will supervise a shift’s production functions of the
customer’s products according to the customer’s specifications and Ryt-way
guidelines and regulations.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Supervise assigned shifts area supervisors,
direct labor and indirect labor to assure requirements of their
positions are met.

Maintain safety awareness on their shift to
help achieve company goals.

Maintain a product quality level which
meets or exceeds customer expectations.
-
Manage plant production to assure
efficiencies, staffing, and rework levels meet or exceed standards.
-
Monitor and control product usage and
losses for all lines and material in the plant.
-
Maintain inventory at an acceptable
accuracy.
-
Maintain the plant cleanliness and keep
“Master Sanitation Schedule” up to date to ensure we meet customer and
internal expectations.

Monitor the ordering of material from the
warehouse and maintain a just-in-time supply for the plant.

Work with supervisors and operators to get
lines started on time and maximize run times.
-
Performs formal and informal sanitation and
GMP audits to assure compliance with Ryt-way and Governmental policies.

Documentation and recording of Vacation and
Absence/Tardy slips; oversee Time & Attendance entries, CBIT completion,
Skills Inventories, and Performance Reviews.

Perform all other duties as requested by
Supervisor.
REQUIREMENTS: High
School Education or GED is required. An advanced degree is preferred. This
position requires a working knowledge of good manufacturing practices,
Ryt-way equipment, policies and procedures, safety, and quality control
standards required in a foods packaging environment. The incumbent should
possess the necessary skills required to schedule efficient use of people
and equipment to meet production schedules and deadlines. He/she should
also possess knowledge of inventory control practices. The position
requires an organized individual, who is a problem solver and has the
ability to manage multiple tasks and balance competing priorities.
Interpersonal skills and ability to supervise people is a must.
