NATIONAL FOOD SALES MANAGER

Foodservice & Institutional Foods

Position Summary

This position is responsible for leading and building Ryt-way’s Foodservice, Institutional Foods, and private label business.  By using technical, organizational, and customer knowledge, the incumbent will expand distribution on existing products, develop new products and capture new markets and customer channels. 

Primary Responsibilities

  •   Must meet established sales goals and drive performance.

  •   Responsible for locating new opportunities for Ryt-way with both existing and new customers.

  •   Determining market strategies & goals for each product and service.

  •   Responsible for budgeting, cost control and annual sales planning for Foodservice and Institutional foods.

  •   Develops and implements strategic sales plans that are aligned with corporate goals and objectives.

  •   Provides leadership to inside customer support personnel.

  •   Maintaining up-to-date understanding of industry trends and technical developments that effect target markets.

  •   Establishing and maintaining industry contacts that lead to sales.

  •   Must be responsive to the customers need and follow through on all aspects of request, both written and verbal.

  •   Manage and communicate sales information and product change both internally and externally.

  •   Regularly perform pricing and competitive analysis by customer channel and recommend strategies to improve market position, improve quality, and reduce costs.

  •   Develop and maintain product database with product specifications and catalog copy for dealer cooperative advertising and catalogs programs.

  •   Establish and maintain relationships with vendors to help facilitate timely completion of projects. 

  •   Provides data and sales forecasts to materials for production scheduling and material requirement.

Requirements

This position requires a bachelor’s degree and minimum of 7 years experience in foodservice distribution and institutional food sales.  You must have a proven track record for growing foodservice and institutional foods or similar food divisions at or beyond established performance goals.  A proven track -record in managing customer service and product management.  Experience in dry food sales with and emphasis in dried dairy products is preferred.  The individual should be highly organized, self directed problem solver with the ability to handle multiple goals and initiatives.  Travel at least 50% should be expected.

Maintenance Supervisor - 3rd Shift

Position Summary

The incumbent has overall responsibility for all maintenance activities, coordinates available resources, plans, schedules, and executes tasks to successfully meet the demands of production, quality, and other departments as required.

Primary Responsibilities

  •   Supervises shift maintenance staff by determining workloads and schedules; develops, interprets and implements policies and procedures; evaluates staff and makes hiring and termination recommendations; and ensures that staff are trained in complex maintenance activities and are following standard operating procedures.

  •   Ensures that safety training is provided to staff and that proper safety practices are followed. 

  •   Demonstrates continuous effort to improve operations, decrease downtime, streamline work processes, and work cooperatively and jointly to provide quality maintenance support.

  •   Responds to unplanned operational and maintenance events.

  •   Inspects completed jobs for quality assurance.

  •   Answers questions and provides information related to projects including resolving problems and providing technical expertise in area of assignment.

  •   Prepares records related to the work performed and parts and supplies used; enters completed work orders in the computerized maintenance management system.

  •   Coordinates on-the-job training for Maintenance Mechanics.

  •   Works with the team to establish goals, priorities, and expectations, and to develop the action plans and strategies for accomplishing them.

  •   Performs periodic evaluations of subordinates and recommends and implements discipline as required.

  •   Develops own technical knowledge and skills by attending relevant workshops, seminars, and reviewing technical literature; participates in internal and external educational opportunities.

  •   Performs all other duties as requested by supervisor.

Qualifications

High School Education or GED is required. A.S. Degree in Manufacturing Maintenance or six plus years’ equivalent experience in related field (electrical, mechanical, packaging) in the maintenance, repair, and installation of machines used in the fabrication of products preferred; ability to work with multiple assignments and diverse peoples. Strong oral and written communication skills; self-motivated/self-starter; can perform with minimal direct supervision; the position requires and organized individual, who is a problem solver and has the ability to manage multiple tasks and balance competing priorities.  Interpersonal skills and ability to supervise people is a must.

Operations Planner

Position Summary

The Operations Planner is responsible for production planning, customer service, inventories, inventory analysis and managing material orders/deliveries using a computerized MRP II System.

Primary Responsibilities

  •   Maintain Customer contact dealing with a variety of requests assuring customer service expectations are met.

  •   Plan and schedule production to maximize equipment and labor efficiency, including resolving issues as they arise concerning equipment capacities, service levels, inventories, etc.

  •   Prepare and analyze inventories for accuracy working directly with Customers and Ryt-way personnel on any concerns.

  •   Manage material orders, tracking supplies and deliveries using MRP II, assuring quick inventory turns with little or no production downtime incorporating lean manufacturing techniques and kanban, when applicable.

  •   Review and adjust daily variances.

  •   Perform accurate and timely system data entry on product information, BOM, production quotas, item maintenance, project maintenance and item codes in Solomon.

  •   Review aging inventories to ensure timely use or communicate suggested disposition(s).

  •   Document and maintain organized files on issues and resolutions, schedules, project information and contacts, customer correspondence, and various reports.

  •   Identify and report any Customer requests that may result in costs incurred by Ryt-way.

  •   Daily/weekly Customer reporting per Customer requests.

  •   Send outstanding orders weekly to Warehouse/Supervisors.

Qualifications

A minimum of a High School diploma or GED is required, as well as excellent interpersonal, communications and computer skills, flexibility in dealing with a variety of people, and an understanding of manufacturing environments and process.  A detailed knowledge of computerized Inventory Control, MRP II, and Microsoft programs is preferred.  This individual should be highly organized, a results-oriented team player and problem solver, and have the ability to manage multiple tasks and balance competing priorities.
